Vikings~Ragnar

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

SO MANY OF MY FAVORITE TV SERIES ARE ALL AIRING AT THE SAME TIME!

So The Walking Dead ended on Sunday, but I am not as heartbroken about that as I should be I guess. I just got disappointed with the last half of this season. It really slowed down for me, and I loved how the season started out. I hope next season will do better. The finale was just kinda meh for me. But at least Michonne is still kickin it.

Game of Thrones started back up on Sunday as well, what I have been waiting ages for. There is almost daily talk about the series at work (I work at Barnes & Noble) that my interest really peaked the last couple of months. I did a complete rewatch a couple weeks ago and started reading the first book again. I am committed to finishing the books now. It's just so good! The premiere wasn't amaze-balls but it was solid and entertaining and I like where things are going. I just want all the episodes nooooow.

My new favorite show is Vikings though things are looking kinda shitty the past couple episodes I still adore the characters. Lagertha is my kick-ass shield maiden inspiration and one of the main reasons I watch the show. I also kinda see parallels between Ragnar and another favorite fictional character of mine Odysseus. Am I crazy? Also beautiful people. All the beautiful, beautiful people. And threesomes.

The Borgias is back this month and we will finally get true incest this season! Something I never thought I would ever wish for but hey if you haven't see the show then YOUR FUCKING LOSS OKAY. Don't judge until you view the undeniable chemistry between those siblings. Again beautiful people.

Lost Girl ends in a few weeks and I have been loving this season. Elementary is another one I'm going to miss. I didn't think I would like that show as much as I do. Lucy Lu for all the parts please.

Once Upon a Time though has become a huge disappointment, not to the point where I will stop watching yet but getting there. It's just, what are you doing? Look at your life OUAT, look at your choices. There are a few good moments here and there but mostly just been snoozeville lately.

New Girl is still solid for me and I need to catch up on Justified like whoa.

Annnnnd most importantly Doctor Who is back! And it looks like the rest of this season is actually going to be good guys. I love Oswin, I am hugely intrigued and impressed with her so far, and I have no complaints with plot choices or story lines so far I'm in a blissful honeymoon state where everything is new and shiny and perfect and I haven't had time to grow to nit pick anything yet. Let's just hope it lasts. You can redeem yourself Moffat I know you can.

I am going to be sad come summer when I don't have fifty shows to watch anymore.
DW~animated Doctor/Rose joyful hug

Can we just talk about how Rose and Ten are going to be on Doctor Who again?

Because this is going to be an actual thing.... that will happen... not just in my dreams.

I heard the news at work, a coworker of mine was scrolling a news site and I happened to notice a headline that had Billie Piper and David Tennant's name in it and my reaction was something like "OMG CLICK ON THAT NOW!"

When she read it to me I was in disbelief, I thought it might be some cruel early april fools joke, or another rumor from some uncreditable source, but it was EW that was reporting it and they are legit. The next hour I was elated, I tried to explain the importance of this to the said coworker but she had only seen a couple episodes and they weren't even episodes with Ten so she didn't get it. I had to really... REALLY resist the urge to run down the aisles flailing and rolling around on the floor giggling with pure joy. Also, not to tell every person who came up to the info desk the news. I finally found out that another one of my coworkers is really into doctor who, he is gay but is still in love with Billie Piper (she just has that affect on people), and we kinda cried happy tears about it together.

I had hoped that this would happen, but Moffat is such a douche like 80% of the time and he hasn't tried to hide the fact that he kinda hates the Rose Tyler character. So that along with the fact that Billie Piper flat out denied that she would be appearing in the 50th anniversary special on the Graham Norton show a couple months ago, I didn't hold out much hope for it becoming reality.

But guys it actually is. Rose and the Doctor in the Tardis just as it should be.

They started filming, there are legit photos of them on set posted, this is actually happening.

It's just I don't think I have every loved anything more that Rose/Ten in my entire life. I am just so happy.

buffy~not stupid

I'm offically cursed.

Oh hai LJ long time no post.

So It's been a rollar coaster of emotions for me this summer. Since moving to Chicago I have not been able to secure a job, and it's not for the lack of trying either, I've applied to a billion places and had a couple interviews. It's just so fustrating. Slowly I found myself falling deeper into my depression.

I have suspected since I returned from Japan I've had minor depression issues but not to the point where I feel I need to be medicated or anything. But lately, I've been having some really bad days. like days where I sleep fovever, don't want to get out of bed, and then feel no motivation to do anything. This has me rethinking how serious my depression may be.

I think it didn't help living in that crap apartment we were in that flooded every month. We moved on the first of this month to a better and brighter apartment on the second floor. On the second floor by the way, so no chance of flooding. I love our building and I love the location. My mood seems to be much better here.

Things were looking up, yesterday I got a call for a interview for Halloween store, which isn't long term but hey it's money and it would be kinda fun. The interview was for today at noon. Shortly after I tripped going down our stairs, missing the last two steps and landing on my left leg which then my left knee locked and then gave way and I end out on the ground thinking I broke something. But luckly, nothing serious, just some spraining going on I think. I'm hobbling around and it aches quiet a bit. trying to keep it elevated and rested so it can heal quicker.

So great perfect timing for that to happen right?! Well I go to my interview today, the bus I wanted to take so that I would be there 10 minutes early, did come on time so I ended up getting there three minutes early. I tried both doors and they were locked! The store hasn't opened yet and I could see some people in there moving things around getting it ready, and I tried to get their attention but I don't think they could see me. I called the number that had called me yesterday three times and let ring and ring and ring, and there was no answer! Not even a answering machine. I was so pissed because I had asked the lady on the phone where the interview would be at and she said at the store location. I just don't get it. I waited outside for 15 minutes just to be sure they weren't late or anything. How unprofessional! So I got all dressed and gussyed up for nothing, and having to stand and wait for the bus to come for 15 minutes did not help my hurt leg at all.

I was just really hoping this would go right so that my life would start turning around here. I neeeeeeeed a job asap! *sigh* I guess I shouldn't want to work for a company that acts like that. Well, I guess there will be other opprotunities. Better ones I hope.

Dany~fire cannot kill a dragon

I was an adult yesterday.

Ok, first off, recently our apartment flooded for the second time. It seems that if the street drains aren't cleaned, this place doesn't get proper drainage and the garden apartments flood. Something that was failed to be mentioned when we entered our lease of course. But at least this time our landlord seemed to be more caring about the situation, the maintenance guy got here quicker to wet vac the night of, he came back the next day with air fresheners for the smell, and yesterday a carpet cleaner came to clean the carpet. Our method to help dry it faster was the run our 2 ACs 24/7 for like 4 or 5 days. It would be nice if he offered to reimburse us for the extra electric costs and the cost to do 2 loads of wet dirty towels, but no I know that he is too much of a douche for that. So, we will be moving again at the end of our lease in October.

Yesterday I put on the big girl pants and I traveled somewhere I have never been before using only public transit. Now, one would think that having lived in Tokyo for 5 months I would be used to having to use public transportation to get everywhere, and with as complex a system they have there one should be able to handle it anywhere. BUT, my fear of getting lost still outweighs my confidence unfortunately, and I do still have a lot of anxiety about going somewhere I never have before. However, I charted my course thoroughly the night before thanks to Google Maps  so I ended up having no big problems. I went to Park Ridge, which is about and hour by 2 buses and a metra train. I had to go there because I have an interview at the library there tomorrow, and I wanted to both know my way so I wouldn't be late and check out the library beforehand. It's a BIG library (3 floors), so not exactly what I am used to, BUT from observing it really isn't anything I'm not capable of. It's for a circulation desk job (making cards, checking out and in items, answering the phone, sorting books, etc.), so really the only big difference is that this library is much more busy than the library I used to work at in my hometown.

AND, a bonus yesterday, I didn't end up having to pay fare for the metra on the way back because I was only on there for 5 stops (about 10 or so minutes) and the conductor walked right past me when he came through, I had my wallet out and everything ready to pay. So yay free ride?!

I also made Yasai Ramen (veggie ramen) for the first time yesterday! I have been craving my Okaasan's like crazy, so I asked her if she could explain it to me, and she did but it was kinda vague, so I found a couple recipes online to help. I tweeted a picture of it on twitter if you follow me. It turned out okay thankfully, but it wasn't as good as my Okaasan's. She talked about using 中国スープ (chinese soup base?) and I don't really know what that is... so we just used veggie broth. They might have it at Mitsuwa, I will have to look next time... but the only thing is I don't know what it looks like! So our version was not quite as flavorful, but we added more soy sauce to get that salty taste.

Today I am going to chill~ and catch up on kdramas because I am a hopeless addict.

Pablo Neruda Doctor/Rose Picspam Part III

So I finished this EPIC picspam just in time for mylittlepwny 's "post something doctor/rose every time someone writes 'prairie dog'" meme. I also find it fitting that I'm posting it on a Saturday, day of Doctor Who. I've worked really hard to finish this, and it took me a week to get it done, so if you feel the urge to share it with others please go right ahead. Picspams are meant to be shared and viewed by many after all.

This is how this picspam works: because of the size of it it cannot be contained in one LJ post without crashing all your browsers with the immense awesome overload caused by the hotness that is Doctor/Rose (also because I made these graphics huge, and there is a lot of them).  So I am splitting it into three posts, it works out nicely this way because I based this picspam off 3 of Pablo Neruda's sonnets. HOWEVER, I MUST STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF VIEWING THE POSTS IN ORDER. I planned it out this way and you just won't get the same effect otherwise.

This is my Christmas in July present to all you Doctor Who fans (^___^)

She lives.

I'm gone 10 days, just 10, and like a million EPICLY AWESOME things happen.

What is on the forefront of my mind right now:
1) Doctor Who finale (which I'm going to have to watch at least 5 more times to fully understand btw)
2) New Harry Potter trailer (IS IT FUCKING NOVEMBER YET SRSLY? SIRUSLY?!)
3) How I have a billion LJ and Tumblr posts to go back through and catch up on (I will probably just say fuck it half way through though.)

So my dears, catch me up on anything I have missed out on, be it in the fandom, or something that has being going on with you, or you know... you could just say hi.

Massive Florida post with details and pictures to be expected in the next couple days. If I don't procrastinate.
